I trust in my creator, I obey him!

Hello, dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ,

Today I would like to challenge us with a simple, yet profound question: What good is having a God if we do not trust Him?

Saying we believe in God isn't enough if, deep down, we still doubt His power, His love, and His faithfulness. Believing in God isn't just about saying His name; it's about surrendering our lives to Him completely, even when we don't understand His ways. Let's not waste our time saying we have a God when we don't believe in His goodness toward us.

Let's look at Abraham. He is often presented as a model of obedience because of the sacrifice of Isaac. Yet, Abraham was not perfect. He made mistakes, he sometimes hesitated, but one thing never left him: his trust in God . It was because of this faith that God agreed to identify with him and to say, "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." (Matthew 22:32)

  • God asked Abraham to leave his country, his family, and everything that made him feel secure, to go to an unknown place. Genesis 12:1 tells us, “The Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.’” And Abraham obeyed, because he knew that God never leads His children to perdition, but to a future of peace and hope. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

  • Then came the ultimate test: offering Isaac, the son of the promise. Abraham did not murmur, he did not argue, he did not question God's holiness. God had promised that nations would be born through Isaac, and Abraham firmly believed that “God is not a man, that he should lie; he is not a human being, that he should change his mind. He never speaks but keeps his word; he fulfills what he promises” (Numbers 23:19). He stood up and obeyed, convinced that God never lies and that He always fulfills what He promises. Even in the face of the incomprehensible, Abraham chose faith over human reasoning. He confidently declared to Isaac, when the latter asked where the sacrifice was, “God will provide,” and God did provide! Genesis 22:7-8 “Then Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, saying, ‘My father!’ And Abraham answered, ‘Here I am, my son!’ Isaac said, ‘Here are the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?’ Abraham answered, ‘My son, God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering.’ And the two of them went on together.”

Brothers and sisters, this is the kind of faith God expects of us: a faith that obeys even when it doesn't understand, a faith that moves forward even when the path seems dark. Abraham's blessing was great, not only for him, but for entire generations. His obedience opened the door to an eternal covenant. A single life surrendered to God can bless entire peoples. So let us honestly ask ourselves this question: Why do we want a God if we refuse to trust Him?

Too often, we want God to do things our way. And when things don't go as planned, we grumble, complain, and doubt. Yet, the Word is clear: disobedience and resistance to God close the door to blessings.

Today, God calls us to total surrender. He calls us to stop bargaining with Him and to submit fully to His will. When we dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to serving Him, He uses all His power to guide us, protect us, and bless us.

Let us attend to God's business. Let us commit ourselves to growing His kingdom, saving souls, and walking in obedience. And God, faithful and just, will take care of our lives far better than we could ever do ourselves.

Brothers and sisters, today let us choose faith rather than fear and shame to serve, obedience rather than rebellion, trust rather than doubt.

May God bless you abundantly in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
