Do your works bring glory to God or death around you?

John 17:1

"After Jesus had said this, he raised his eyes to heaven and prayed: 'Father, the time has come. Give glory to your Son, so that your Son may give glory to you.'

Our works must reflect the presence of God in our lives, God must be able to manifest his glory through us so that we, who have accepted God as savior and Lord, can bring souls back to God.

Jesus Christ, in perfect obedience, fulfilled the will of the Father and remained steadfast in the path of righteousness and justice to make the Father known. It is written in John 4:34, "Jesus said to them, 'God sent me into the world. My food is to do what God wants and to complete the work he has given me.'"

What is our food? Is it the world and the pursuit of worldly things? Or is it the Lord and doing His perfect will no matter the trials?

For Matthew 6:24 tells us, "No one can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other; or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

What do our works say about our relationship with God? Do we continue to lie, steal, cheat? Are jealousy, envy, adultery, murder, etc. still our lot?

How then are we going to do God's perfect will if we follow the world? How are we going to love God if we don't follow His instructions? How are we going to let God's glory shine forth in our lives if we don't submit as the Son did? For yes, Jesus Christ said in John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

Jesus Christ calls us to walk like Him so that He may live in us and we in Him, as the Father and He are one. John 5:30 "I can do nothing by myself. I judge as the Father tells me, and my judgment is just. For I do not seek to do what I want, but to do the will of him who sent me."

Be blessed.

In the name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord

Amen!
