It's never too late to start!

If I had known how quickly time would pass, if I had made the effort to devote myself more fully to the study of God's Word, if I had followed the Eternal One, the thrice-holy God, from the very first day He called me and told me not to be afraid—then I would not have known evil, nor would I have run toward it.

For I did not consistently follow the Lord’s commandments, fearing failure. I did not restrain my mouth from defiling my body with lies or with words that did not glorify the Lord. I did not guard my heart from being fed by the desires of the world.

If I had embraced the wisdom of the Scriptures, which says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal praise.” (Psalm 111:10), I would not have denied my Creator through my doubts, my fears, and my questions.

For indeed, by filling my heart with fear, anxiety, and worry, I doubted the truth that God has only good plans for us. As He declares: “For I know the plans I have for you—plans for peace and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

If we were to take just one small step closer to Jesus Christ, and one step less toward the world and all it offers, then in the end, we would belong entirely to our Creator.

Let us begin today, because Jesus Christ tells us in Matthew 11:27–29:“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

It is never too late to begin a new journey with God. He is waiting for us and is near to each of us. He invites us to surrender to Him, so that He can carry our burdens. Jesus Christ bore them all on the cross—and He will bear them again for you each day, if you make room for Him in your life.

To surrender to God is to close your eyes, knowing you won’t fall—even when running with all your strength
To surrender to God is to close your eyes, knowing you won’t fall—even when running with all your strength

Be blessed.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord

Amen!
