The power of obedience to God.

1 Samuel 15:22: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying his voice? No, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.”

Obedience to God is a central spiritual principle which means listening to his Word, following his commandments out of love and freedom, and not out of constraint, in order to live according to his will and fulfill his divine destiny, bringing peace, joy and promises, and resulting in a life of faith, gratitude and service to God and others.

We don't always perfectly obey God's will; we commit a few sins here and there, telling ourselves it's not a big deal or that we had no choice, that we can always ask for forgiveness. However, we forget that the instructions God gives us, whether in Holy Scripture or through His Holy Spirit, are so that we may experience happiness, abundance, and peace on this earth where we live. Furthermore, what we consider "a minor sin," which is disobedience to God's way, diminishes the grace God has planned for us.

One thing is certain for everyone: the end of the world will come, and each of us will disappear. The question we must ask ourselves is: what kind of life do we want to have before we leave? Do we want a life where the opinions of others and the world matter more than serving God and following the Lord's path? Or do we choose obedience, turning our backs on what others will say and on our evil desires, to experience God's peace, which surpasses all understanding, abundance, and joy?

Shame sometimes prevents us from being obedient, our desires sometimes prevent us from being obedient, or the world prevents us from being obedient; but before the end of the tunnel, we must finally make a choice between God and ourselves plus the world.

In Matthew 6:24 (and also Luke 16:13), it is written: “No one can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon [money/riches].”

When we look at the Men of God who were obedient to Him, we find Enoch, Abraham, Melchizedek, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Esther, Gideon, Ruth, Deborah, David, Solomon, etc. All of them experienced abundance and extraordinary things on this earth, and to this day, after hundreds of generations, we still talk about them and will continue to talk about them after our death, until the end of time.

Living in obedience to God means living in the extraordinary on earth, for it is written in John 14:23: “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” If the Creator of heaven and earth, if the holy Trinity, comes to dwell in your home, what more could you possibly lack? Who can be against you?

Let's change our walk with God starting today! May God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen!
